As Liverpool’s first ‘maker’ school we are so excited to be part of MakerFest 2017. Our team are busily preparing our first exhibition products in readiness for Makerfest 2017. We will be showcasing our new social enterprise ‘Furniture from the Wood’.

At Studio@Deyes our mission is to ensure that our students aged 14-19 are equipped with the skills, experiences and qualifications needed to be successful and #MAKEIT in their chosen careers. Specialising in fashion, engineering and business our students have access to two open plan makerspaces, to produce new inventions, upcycle preloved items and recycle materials into new creations.

Furniture from the Wood is the brainchild of our engineering staff and students who lovingly create bespoke and unique furniture form upcycled and recycled materials. The project has enabled students to learn traditional crafts skills which we hope they will be able to use in their future careers. The project began in the Spring of 2017 and already the team have been inundated with orders.

We hope that you visit our stand in the Liverpool Central Library on Saturday and look forward to seeing you there!
